This is a tribute to the late, great artist Sue Cavanaugh in a project called A Common Thread. The artists involved were given pieces of her last fabric installation and asked to find a way to incorporate it into our own work.
This piece is influenced by the Spanish Culture. Something that Sue greatly admired, as do I. The piece incorporates her fabrics in both the river that runs into 3 waterfalls and the sun from what was once one of her hanging mobiles. I tried to use many of her colorful threads and tried not to be afraid of raw edges- as I learned from examining Sue's own work.
